Crank Shaft and Stern Ramp Overhaul – MV ASL Sanderling

MARENER Industries was contracted to overhaul the 142 tonne stern ramp and replace the main engine crank shaft on the MV ASL Sanderling.  During the project the overall work-scope tripled due to unforeseen repairs, however the project was completed one week ahead of the original schedule with no loss time accidents or safety incidents. The following is a partial listing of work performed throughout this project: ro/ro ramp removal, overhaul and reinstallation; crank shaft removal and reinstallation; hydraulic repairs; in situ line boring and other machining; inspection and servicing of various winches; various steel and piping repairs; and coatings renewals.
