MARENER Industries was contracted by Publics Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) as part of the Government of Canada's 2010 Economic Action Plan to build fifteen (15) aluminum pollution response vessels for Canada Coast Guard (CCG). The 46 foot, 14.5 tonne aluminum vessels were built in MARENER Industries' Halifax, NS facility and delivered to various CCG bases throughout Canada. The last vessel is to be launched in October 2011, just sixteen (16) months after the original contract award. To date this work was been carried out without any quality deficiencies or lost time accidents.
